What we investigate
The complaints that need an independent finding.
-
Workplace harassment
Between co-workers, by a manager, or from customers.
-
Sexual harassment
Handled with discretion for everyone involved.
-
Workplace violence
Incidents and threats, with the facts you need to decide next steps.
-
Misconduct
Theft, policy breaches and other conduct that needs a fair process.
Why bring in an investigator
Some complaints are too close to home.
Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act requires employers to investigate harassment complaints in a way that's appropriate in the circumstances. Sometimes that means someone from outside.
- The complaint is about an owner or senior manager
- Your team is small and everyone knows everyone
- The allegations are serious, or involve violence
- You expect the outcome to be challenged
How it works
From first call to written report.
-
Tell us what happened
A confidential conversation about the complaint and who's involved.
-
We plan the investigation
Scope, witnesses and notices to the parties, agreed with you up front.
-
Interviews & evidence
We interview the complainant, respondent and witnesses and review the records.
-
Written report
Clear findings you can act on, and that hold up if they're questioned later.
